What we collect
If you use the enquiry form we collect the name, phone number, email address, service type and message you provide. We only collect what you type in. The form does not record your IP address or browser details.
If you phone or email us directly, we hold whatever you choose to tell us.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details solely to answer your enquiry, arrange work and provide a quote. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests, namely responding to someone who has asked us to get in touch, and where the enquiry leads to work, taking steps prior to entering a contract.
We do not use your details for marketing and we do not sell or share them for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are not stored in this website’s database. They are delivered to us as an email and kept in our mailbox for [RETENTION PERIOD], after which they are deleted. Records relating to work carried out are kept for [RETENTION PERIOD] to meet accounting and legal obligations.
Who else is involved
Our website hosting provider stores server logs which may include IP addresses, for security and diagnostics. Our email is provided by Microsoft 365.
Two services load content on this site:
- Cloudflare Turnstile protects the enquiry form from automated abuse. It processes your IP address and limited browser information to tell humans from bots. It does not set cookies and is not used to track you.
- Trustindex displays our Google reviews on the home page. Loading it contacts Trustindex and may contact Google to fetch reviewer photos, which involves your IP address.
Cookies
This website sets no cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking technologies. We store one small item in your browser’s session storage which WordPress uses to check emoji support. It contains no personal information and is cleared when you close the tab.
Fonts are served from our own server rather than from Google, so viewing the site does not send your details to Google.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it. Email info@bcvs.co.uk and we will respond within one month.
